My "soccer age"
What is the correct age level for my player?
In Traveling Soccer, the play level is determined by age level (called U9, U10, U11, etc.) and within an age level there are 2-4 levels of skill.
The "soccer year" starts on August 1, and the player's age on August 1st determines his normal age group. If the player is 12 years old on August 1st, he is known as U13 ("under 13") for the whole soccer year. The soccer year includes two seasons: the fall season and the subsequent summer season.
No matter the circumstances, MYSA will not make an exception to these age guidelines. If your player was born on July 31st, and his best friend was born on August 1st, your player is too old to play in the best friend's age level. The best friend can play up a year to be with your player, however.
To determine the right age group for your child, click on the link below for a convenient chart. When you register your child in our registration system, you enter the birthdate, and our system will automatically assign your child to the correct age level.
