Determination, desire, skill, and great team play was the Pumas' recipe for success at the Woodbury tournament. The championship game was super exciting and the best the Pumas have ever played! Congrats to all the girls from Coaches Doris Anger and Bill Radichel.
In a strong performance, the team won every game they played. Friday's score was 2-1, Saturday's was 2-0, and Sunday's was 2-0, earning the team a spot in the Championship Game. In that game, our girls were behind, but scored our second goal to tie 2-2 at literally the very last second. Overtime did not break the tie, so a shootout ensued. Our girls made 4 out of 5 shots to take the trophy!! Very exciting game and weekend overall and a very deserving group of girls who have made fast progress working together. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Our U17 players are juniors who aim to be on the varsity team this coming fall. Coaches Tom Lillie and Haans Vitek invite all Valley United and VAA players to come watch our boys U17 C2 team as they face North Mankato.
Kickoff is 6:30pm next Wednesday, May 16. The game is at the Stadium field where the AVHS varsity teams play, just across the road from the entrance to the Waterpark. The official address is 5800 140th Street West, Apple Valley.
Parking is free, and entrance to the stadium is free to all. Concessions are not available, so bring your own beverages and snacks. Players should wear their team jersey so they can find their teammates.
